THE CORVALLIS ADVOCATE - 2017

ANNUAL THC FAIR COMES TO CORVALLIS

By Kiki Genoa March 8, 2017

Every spring, a traveling marijuana-themed festival known as the THC (Hemp and Cannabis) Fair graces the Northwest, and for two days in each town a diverse variety of professionals in the burgeoning industries of pot growing, processing, wholesale, lab manufacturing, research, and retail come together to educate, inform, and entertain the public.

This year’s expo is held at the Benton County Fairgrounds on Saturday, March 11 and Sunday, March 12. It will feature an eclectic assortment of keynote speakers, vendors, and information booths.

The event will feature nine speakers across two days whose expertise spans from business and policy to recreational use. The featured speakers include Gabriel Cross, the CEO of Shaping the Future Industry, who will examine competition in the pot industry at 11 a.m. on Saturday. Brock Binder, the founder of Corvallis’ own High Quality Compassion, will discuss medical and recreational cannabis users and responsible use in relation to the OHA early retail sales at 12 p.m. on Saturday. Brian L. Michaels, P.C., Oregon’s top marijuana attorney, will host a Q&A about the latest information and requirements for participating in Oregon’s new Recreational Marijuana Program at 2 p.m. on Saturday. Pioneer Pete, the president of the Oregon Sungrown Growers’ Guild, will talk to attendees about new regulations in the growing industry at 3 p.m. on Sunday; the fair also includes several other speakers.

Booths at the THC Fair will include merchandise from 2 Dye 4 Creations, Albany’s Canna Kitchen and Research, Amethyst Rocks, Bayshore Smokin’ Glass, Beaver Bowls, Doterra, Gemm Farms, The Green Room, Hippie Roots, Living the Pipe Dream, PerfectPipe, Skunk Tees LLC, Stony Tony LLC, Canna Logix, and the Makery Bakery.

Companies like Corvallis Hydroponics and Organics, GHS Northwest, Gold Crown Horticultural Services, Greenbroz.inc, HomeWest EcoTech, My Urban Greenhouse, Saga Brothers, Seedsherenow.com, The Heat Pump Store, Ultimate Comfort, and Web Steel Buildings Northwest, LLC, will provide resources for both indoor and outdoor marijuana growers.

Tickets are $15 per person for the whole weekend, with a $1 discount  available on the THC Fair’s official site. Veterans can attend the entire two-day event for only $10. Samples of pot-infused edibles will be available to attendees who have their medical cards ready.

The expo is hosted, presented, and sponsored by High Quality Compassion in Corvallis. Hope to see you there!
